Some Early Reader Feedback for Druid’s Bane…
My beta readers have been going over the ARC with a fine-toothed comb for the last week, helping me make last-minute improvements to the manuscript.
That said, they’ve also been going crazy over it, with several ARC readers calling it my best work yet:
“I don’t give 5 stars indiscriminately. They have to be earned and this book earned them. The story flows smoothly from the end of the previous book. The well-fleshed characterizations, the fast paced story, and the strong plot make for a non-stop, very enjoyable read.”
~ Bev C., 5-star Kindle reader review
“MD Massey does it again! I love all of his books, however, as a beta reader this is his best yet. If you like urban fantasy then this series is a must have.”
~Beth W., 5-star ARC reader review
“A great story with good pacing, action-packed but still story-driven! Yet another hit from Mr. Massey!”
~John B., 5-star Kindle reader review
In light of all the early praise, I must say I am quite proud of this novel. At 95,000 words it’s my longest urban fantasy novel yet, and I worked my tail off to release it according to my usual publication schedule.
Readers should also know that this is the third, but not the final, entry in The Trickster Cycle urban fantasy series. Originally I was going to cap this series off at three books, but while I was writing Druid’s Bane I decided the series needed one more book.
So, What’s Next After Druid’s Bane?
So, what’s next? I took a few days off from writing after I finished editing DB, and tomorrow I’ll start writing my next novella, Blood Thirst. I don’t want to give too much away, but this one will focus on Fallyn, continuing one of the subplots in Druid’s Bane.
I’m also looking to take on some co-authors for other Druidverse projects and series. I already have one co-author lined up, and I’m working on recruiting a few more. After I finish Blood Thirst and I get a few co-authors settled in, I’ll start writing the final entry in The Trickster Cycle, Druid’s Gamble.
So, stay tuned. I’m not planning on going anywhere, and I have lots in store for my readers.
