THEM Gabby’s Run To Release In One Week!

Them Gabby's Run a paranormal post-apocalyptic novel

The fourth book in my paranormal apocalypse series, THEM: Gabby’s Run, is set to release in one week. Right now it’s with my layout editor/interior designer, so I should have both the final ebook and paperback versions ready for Kindle and print by the end of next week.

So what can readers expect with this next installment in the series?

This novel is a minor departure from the previous books in the series. The story is told from the perspective of Gabby Mendoza, one of Scratch Sullivan’s sidekicks that he picks up early in Book One: Incursion. In this book, readers will learn quite a bit more about Gabby, how she ended up at the Facility, who her mysterious uncle is, and what her relationship with Captain Lorena Perez, a.k.a. “The Doc,” entails.

I decided to write this book about Gabby because she has always intrigued me as a character, and I felt like there has been a lot of mystery surrounding her as the series has progressed. So, I wanted to let readers get to know her better, and I also wanted to fill in parts of the backstory that I just couldn’t address by writing from Scratch’s perspective.

As with all the novels in the series, you can expect this book to start in action and stay there, as it maintains a breakneck pace until the very last page. At approximately 46,000 words, it is the shortest novel in the series thus far, but I think readers will find it to be a very satisfying tale and a great addition to the series overall.

And as for the audio book version, right now I am looking for a female narrator who can legitimately do a Spanish accent. Gabby, being Mexican-American, throws more than a few Spanish words (and curse words) around in this book. I did my best to make her voice stay true to the South Texas dialect and lingo that I heard as a kid in Duval, Jim Wells, and Nueces Counties. Hopefully, I won’t embarrass the Perez side of my family with any of the Spanish in the book. 🙂

As I said, I hope to have the book out by the end of this week. If all goes well, I’ll be hitting the publish button on the Kindle platform on Saturday, June 25th. So, keep your fingers crossed!

If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions regarding any of the books in the series, feel free to send me an email via my contact page. And, be sure to sign up for my newsletter so you can be the first to hear when a new book drops.

I am very ready to read this book. The first three were definitely something I’ve never ever read before and I love how you bring all the monsters together with the walking dead and such. I so hope scratch is also involved in here somewhere. We talked about this after I finish is he’d your first email books. I’m pretty sure you have a great hit here. Best wishes. Cynthia

My husband and I have been listening to the first three books since August 2016, finishing the third just now, in January 2017. When our oldest started college in August, we listened to the first audio on our three-hour trip home from dropping him off. We’ve proceeded to zip through the others, catching time to listen here and there. In our busy lives, listening together and enjoying the stories and characters has become a sort of date night run, out for dinner or coffee we catch a chapter, interspersed with caring and the regular day-to-day stuff with our other child. It’s our escape for us for a bit :). We often forgo any TV watching and instead listen. So, yep … we love Them! And at the epilogue of each, the last credits haven’t even rolled yet, we buy the next audio!

I haven’t seen an update for Gabby’s Run, the audio, although I may have missed it. Checked Amazon and Audible, both, nothing there. Is there a release date for the audio version?

Thank you! (And apologies for the long-windedness!)

Hi Paulette! I have a voice over artist working on Gabby’s Run now. Hopefully she’ll have it done soon. Glad you’ve enjoyed the audiobooks thus far!
