Colin McCool Is Far From Retirement
After twenty novels, thirteen years, several apocalypses, and enough supernatural trouble to topple a small nation, you might think Colin McCool has earned a little time off.
You’d be wrong.
Many readers thought Sylvan Druid might be the end of Colin’s story. It brought the Sylvan Cycle to a close, wrapped up a number of long-running storylines, and seemed like a pretty good place to leave our favorite foul-mouthed ginger druid.
Colin, being Colin, had other plans.
The result is Mythic Druid, the first book in The Archdruid Series.
And things are about to get complicated.
Colin has spent most of his career fighting supernatural threats from the fringes of The World Beneath. Now he’s being forced into a very different role. The old druids are gone, the supernatural world is changing, and Colin is increasingly finding himself in a position where people aren’t just expecting him to solve problems—they’re looking to him for leadership.
Which, if you know Colin, is probably going to go swimmingly. 😉
There are also some rather significant changes happening in his personal life.
His relationship with Fallyn, alpha of the Austin Pack, has been evolving for a while now, and Mythic Druid takes that dynamic into some interesting new territory. They’ve already survived their share of supernatural disasters, but apparently being mated to an alpha werewolf wasn’t complicated enough.
Because now Colin has to figure out what comes next.
And then there’s Olympus.
The Greek gods are back, and let’s just say they aren’t particularly happy with our Junkyard Druid. Hera, in particular, has a few ideas of her own. Those plans involve ancient magic, some very dangerous sorcerers, and an enemy powerful enough to make Colin question his usual bag of druidic tricks.
So, yes. Things are getting interesting.
Mythic Druid kicks off a new era in the Druidverse, one where Colin isn’t simply trying to survive the latest supernatural calamity. Now, he’s establishing himself as an Archdruid and taking his place among the powers of The World Beneath.
There will be gods. There will be ancient sorcery. There will be fae, werewolves, vampires, and all the other supernatural trouble you’ve come to expect from the Druidverse.
And, of course, there will be Colin McCool.
He just has a few more responsibilities these days.
No pressure… right?
Mythic Druid drops on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited on September 30th.

I just finished the audiobook of Sylvan Druid this evening and was, indeed, worried that it would be the last we’d hear of young Mr McCool.
Now I am delighted to have a whole new cycle of audiobooks to add to my Wish List!
Please book the excellent Stephen Barnett as your narrator again? It wouldn’t be the same without him.
Best wishes from a devoted Welsh fan.
