Coming Soon… Sylvan Druid!

Coming soon, Sylvan Druid, an urban fantasy novel by MD Massey.

Sylvan Druid Is Finished… And I Still Can’t Quite Believe It.

It’s done.

After everything—the delays, the setbacks, the unexpected detours—Sylvan Druid is finally complete.

This book took more out of me than any novel I’ve ever written.

As some of you know, I’ve been dealing with lingering neuralgia following my cancer surgery. It’s not something I talk about much, because frankly, I’d rather spend my time talking about magic, monsters, and snarky druids. But it would be dishonest not to acknowledge the role it played in this process.

There were days when sitting at the keyboard for more than a few minutes felt like torture. Days when the words came slower than ever.

So I adapted.

Over the past few months, I’ve shifted to dictating roughly 75% of my writing. It’s a different process—one that changes the cadence and texture of the prose in subtle ways—but it’s allowed me to keep going. To keep telling Colin’s story. To keep building the world that so many of you have come to love.

And for that, I’m grateful beyond words.

Because here’s the thing that really blows my mind:

Sylvan Druid is the 20th novel in the Colin McCool saga.

Twenty!

When I began writing Colin McCool and the Vampire Dwarf back in 2012, I had no grand master plan. No sprawling universe mapped out across whiteboards and timelines. I just had a character I loved writing—a smart-mouthed, stubborn, ginger hero who refused to leave me alone.

I never imagined that thirteen years later, I’d still be writing his story.

I never imagined that he’d still be growing, changing, and surprising me.

And I certainly never imagined that all of you would still be here for the ride.

You’ve watched Colin lose everything. You’ve watched him claw his way back. You’ve watched him face gods, monsters, and enemies older than civilization itself.

And now, with Sylvan Druid, you’re going to see him face something else entirely.

Something final.

Something inevitable.

Something that changes everything.

But this isn’t the end of the Druidverse.

Not even close.

In fact, this book opens the door to what comes next.

I’m already planning a new series focused on one of Colin’s apprentices—someone who has a very different path ahead of them, and very different challenges to face.

There’s also another Colin-centric series taking shape. One that lets me explore new corners of the Druidverse in ways that are a little different, a little stranger, and a lot of fun.

And beyond that… there are still so many characters whose stories aren’t finished.

So I want to hear from you.

Which characters would you like to see return? Whose story deserves the spotlight next?

Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the past thirteen years, it’s that this world is bigger than any one character.

Even Colin McCool.

Just don’t tell him I said that.

For now, though, I hope you’ll join me for this next chapter.

Sylvan Druid releases on Kindle February 27th, and it’s available for pre-order now:

I can’t wait for you to experience how this part of Colin’s journey unfolds.

Thank you for sticking with me.

Thank you for believing in these stories.

And thank you for making it possible for me to keep telling them.
